Recently, the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security released the "People's Republic of China Occupational Classification (2022 edition)", among the 158 new occupations, "study travel guide" is among them. According to the official definition, the study travel instructor refers to the person who plans, formulates and implements the study travel plan, organizes and guides the study experience activities.
In 2016, 11 departments including the Ministry of Education issued the Opinions on Promoting Study Travel for Primary and Secondary School Students, and study travel has gradually attracted attention. Since July 2019, the Talent Center of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism has taken the profession of research travel guides as a pilot project to promote the evaluation of the vocational ability level of cultural and tourism talents, including the compilation of the Standards for the Evaluation of the Vocational ability level of Research Travel Guides and the examination question database jointly with Zhejiang Tourism Vocational College; Beijing Jiallian International Education Technology Co., Ltd. has been established as a designated training unit for the professional ability level evaluation of the research and travel guides of the Talent Center of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, and has done a good job in recruiting and training, organizing candidates, and evaluating the standards.
At present, China's Ministry of Culture and Tourism has set up "research travel instructor" related certificate examination, the qualification certificate is divided into four levels, of which four is the entry level, meet one of the following conditions can apply for four: obtain a college diploma or above (including fresh students); Obtained the People's Republic of China tour guide qualification certificate; Obtained the People's Republic of China teacher qualification certificate.
The exam takes the form of a written test and an interview. Before the written test, a review question bank will be provided to the candidates, and there will be training before the interview to help non-tourism practitioners understand the relevant knowledge. Previously, due to the impact of the epidemic, the study travel guide adopted the way of online examination.
With the increasing trend of research travel industry, research travel guides reflect the demand of the market for interdisciplinary talents. In one event, a study tour instructor is responsible for both curriculum development and group travel, combining the characteristics of a variety of traditional professions such as teachers and tour guides.
With the release of the new occupational classification, the study travel guide has obtained the identity recognition from the country. Because of the particularity of their work content, the talent with the corresponding major is more likely to get the job opportunity. For example, when the courses are related to plants, crops, geology and geomorphology, graduates with a background in geology and botany are more likely to get job opportunities, because only professional talents can guarantee the accuracy of the knowledge points involved in the courses. There are no disciplinary restrictions on research travel, and talents from diverse disciplinary backgrounds such as natural science, humanities and history may become research travel instructors through training in the future.
As an emerging industry, the salary of research travel instructors is closely related to their ability and seniority. Take Chongqing as an example, the study travel guide has been in the industry for 1-3 years, has a certain ability to develop courses, and the salary range is 4,000-6,000 yuan. 3 to 6 years in the industry, good course development ability, landing execution ability, salary can reach 6,000 to 8,000 yuan. Long-term deep cultivation in the research industry, the salary can reach 8,000-15,000 yuan.
With the epidemic slowing down and the popularity of the concept of research travel, in the future, the consumer groups of research travel will no longer stick to students, and adults who are willing to learn may also join the team of research travel. The growth of customer groups also means that the team of research travel instructors has a broad space for development.
