Ministry of Education: The trend of overseas students choosing to return to China is obvious. We insist on carrying out "safe study abroad" pre-trip training throughout the country

Recently, The State Council Information Office held a regular briefing on The State Council's policy on consular protection and assistance. The Ministry of Education calls on students, parents, schools and society planning to study abroad to attach great importance to the "safe study abroad" pre-trip training.

When asked about the safety and protection of international students, Chen Dali, head of the Department of International Cooperation and Exchange of the Ministry of Education, introduced that at present, China is an important source of international students in the world, and the destinations of overseas students cover more than 100 countries around the world. After completing their studies, the overseas students choose to return to China.

"Study abroad tens of millions, safety first." Over the years, the Ministry of Education has taken the initiative to adapt to the new situation of overseas study service work at home and abroad, and has worked hard to build a full-chain management service system covering "before going abroad, abroad and after returning home". The Ministry of Education, together with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and other departments, has continued to carry out "Safe Study Abroad" pre-trip training throughout the country, strengthened coordination and cooperation with local governments, domestic universities and Chinese embassies and consulates abroad, continued to expand the scale of training activities such as "Safe Study Abroad on Campus" and "Safe Study Abroad with You", and carefully designed training content. It covers various aspects such as security prevention, mental health, anti-fraud, adaptation and integration, overseas study policy and return service. At present, all kinds of publicity and promotion activities of "Safe Study Abroad" have covered more than 13 million people.

"Taking this opportunity, we call on parents and students who plan to study abroad, as well as schools and society, to attach great importance to pre-departure training, actively participate in and study hard." Chen Dali expressed the hope that through various forms of pre-departure training, to help overseas students effectively improve their awareness of prevention and enhance prevention skills.

In addition, the Ministry of Education has also effectively played a role in the early warning mechanism for the safety risks of overseas students, continuously released early warning information through relevant departments and official new media platforms such as wechat public accounts of embassies and consulates abroad, regularly combed through the safety incidents of overseas students, reminded overseas students to enhance their awareness of prevention, and comply with local laws and regulations during their stay. At the same time, Chinese embassies and consulates abroad have over the years strengthened their care and care for overseas students, including resolving their problems and providing consular protection, which is a strong backing for overseas students.

Chen Dali said that the Ministry of Education will continue to take multiple measures to protect the safety and legitimate rights and interests of overseas students, and resolutely implement the Party and government's care for overseas students. It is hoped that the majority of students studying abroad can achieve safe, healthy and successful study abroad, carry forward the glorious tradition of studying abroad to serve the country, forge ahead with The Times and develop together with the motherland, and contribute to the realization of the Chinese dream of the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation.
