From April 27 to 29, 2022, China Scholarship Council (hereinafter referred to as the China Scholarship Council) successfully held the third UN Job Fair (the first one), which was a combination of online and offline activities. Seven international organizations, including UNESCO, UNDP, UNHCR, FAO, the International Telecommunication Union, IOM and the World Food Program, as well as 37 universities in China, participated in the relevant activities.
On the afternoon of April 27, the event was officially opened. Li Qing, Deputy Secretary-General of China Scholarship Council, attended the opening ceremony and delivered a speech. Representatives of 7 international organizations and 6 leading domestic universities had in-depth exchanges on the theme of "How to cultivate talents needed by international organizations", and exchanged views on the talent needs of international organizations and the cultivation of global competency talents in domestic universities.
On April 28-29, 6 leading universities including Peking University, Harbin Institute of Technology, Southeast University, Zhejiang University, Wuhan University, Xi 'an Jiaotong University and 7 international organizations conducted a special lecture consultation, and other 31 universities from 16 provinces and cities including Tsinghua University and Renmin University of China organized students to participate. Project managers of China Scholarship Council participated in various special activities to answer questions for students. Through consultation and online interactive Q&A, college teachers and students have deepened their understanding of the purposes and functions of international organizations, talent programs and application requirements, and improved their skills in applying for internships in international organizations. In order to ensure the effectiveness of the publicity and consultation activities, the China Scholarship Council will provide the video resources of the second UN Agency publicity and consultation activities to the relevant host universities, so that relevant universities and colleges can organize students who are interested in taking internship positions in international organizations to learn in advance. According to statistics, the activity attracted about 2,200 teachers and students to participate in the online interaction, and 2,700 people watched it online through the live streaming platform.
The second session of the third UN Agency Advisory Event will be held in the second half of the year, and other international organizations that have cooperated with the China Scholarship Council will be invited to participate.
