On January 28, the Study Abroad Service Center of the Ministry of Education issued the "Announcement on adjusting the special certification rules for cross-border Distance Diploma Certificates during the epidemic" :
According to the relevant national policies, cross-border remote foreign degree certificates and higher education diplomas are not currently within the scope of our center's certification. Since the outbreak of COVID-19, the Center has always put the health and safety of overseas students in the first place. For overseas students who are forced to take part or all of their courses online due to the impact of the epidemic, their degrees can be granted normal accreditation after they meet the degree awarding requirements set by foreign universities. At present, major overseas study destinations have opened their borders, and overseas colleges and universities have fully resumed offline teaching. The National Health Commission announced that from January 8, 2023, the implementation of the new coronavirus infection "Class B tube", China's epidemic prevention and control has entered a new stage. In order to effectively protect the interests of overseas students and maintain educational equity, the Center has decided to cancel the special certification rules during the epidemic. The Centre will no longer provide accreditation services for foreign diploma certificates obtained in the spring semester of 2023 (Autumn semester of the Southern Hemisphere) and beyond which distance learning (including new and continuing studies) is used. If there are special reasons and the relevant provisions are met, the Center will handle the case properly.
